Qatar World Cup 24.5 lakh tickets sold

World Cup football season is approaching, frenzy of football fans who are eager to watch the game while sitting on the field is increasing. FIFA ticket sales data is emerging very well.
Organizers have so far sold 2.45 million tickets for the event to be held in Qatar, FIFA said Thursday. FIFA said more than 5 lakh tickets were sold in the last phase from July 5 to 16 and 500,000 seats still available three months before the tournament starts in Qatar.
FIFA said maximum number of tickets allotted matches for group stage are Brazil vs Cameroon, Brazil vs Serbia, Portugal vs Uruguay, Costa Rica vs Germany and Australia vs Denmark.
The top 10 places ranked by ticket sales to their residents include Qatar and neighboring countries Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The United States, England, Mexico, France, Argentina, Brazil and Germany are also on the list released by FIFA.

FIFA said the timing of the next round of ticket sales will be announced by the end of September. Tickets will be available directly at the counters in Doha after the final stage of sale.
The 64 game tournament in eight stadiums in and around Doha starts on November 20 and has a total capacity of about 3 million tickets. FIFA previously said it got 3 million ticket requests for the World Cup final on December 18 Qatar's national day at the new 80,000 seat Lusail Stadium.
The World Cup will begin on November 20 with a match between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador. This is the first time that the world football's most prestigious event is going to be held in the Middle East. Usually, the World Cup is held in June-July, but keeping in mind the intense heat of this region, this time the tournament has been taken in November-December.
