Facebook to end live shopping feature on October

Another reason why Meta is moving to short length video form is Facebook live shopping events. Recently an announcement was made by Facebook that their live shopping event will be closed from October 1. Facebook merchants used this feature to create product videos for followers.
It's like a personal home shopping network. Here a merchant could notify his followers of upcoming live shopping sessions and take payments through Messenger.
According to BBC, Meta recently requested them to showcase this product through 'reel'. To tag products through Reel Ad and Instagram Reel. In a post, Meta said "As user behavior is moving towards shorter video formats, we are also keeping up with the times and prioritizing Reel on Facebook and Instagram".

Recently this TikTok status is ruling the entire social media world. Due to some of their strategic advancements they have quite attracted the young community.
Because of this, Meta also lost their revenue. As a result, Zuckerberg is giving more importance to Reel on Facebook and Instagram. Because they consider it as a tool to recover from their losses.
Currently, twenty percent of Instagram users spend their time watching Reels. That's why Meta is constantly pushing its creators to make original content.
