Why eat less salt?




Our body does not need more than 5 grams or a teaspoon of salt per day to perform normal functions. Too much salt is harmful to the body. Main function of salt is to help muscle and nerve function and regulate water in the body.

Rather than eating raw salt, we get the necessary salt for the body through the salt contained in various foods. Eating more salt is the biggest problem in blood pressure. Blood pressure increases. Also, eating more salt increases risk of stroke, heart problems, heart failure, heart attacks, bone loss, stomach cancer, and various kidney complications.

Immunity is a way to stay well in everyday life. Eating too much salt for a long time reduces the immunity of the body. Eating too much salt regularly over a long period of time can make you feel weak. Because, excess salt then prevents the body from making energy. A little salt is enough to keep the body healthy. Even many natural foods are low in salt.

Although most of us eat salt in curries and snacks. Do not eat salt separately with rice and others food. Pickles are high in salt so eat in moderation. Sauces, wraps, pizza, instant noodles, burgers, chips contain a lot of salt. If possible, do not keep a separate salt shaker on the dining table.
